Araneus
at 12 mm I guess it's not one of the small Araneus. I was starting to lean toward A. bispinosus. Nice shots as usual. Just to verify.. you aren't including the legs in measurements are you?

Spider measurement
OK, I took the ruler out tonight and the abdomen alone is about 7mm long and 7mm wide. Parallax issues could make this measurement a millimeter or so too Big but no more. She is annoyed by getting too close, sometimes to the point of doing this petulant web shake dance so I try to avoid "bugging" her too much. Of course with the exception of directing a few blinding flashes her way now and then.

A. bispinosus
may still be in the running if she doesn't get any larger. They are only supposed to get to about 7 mm.
