Eastern Shieldback Katydid - Atlanticus - male

Eastern Shieldback Katydid - Atlanticus - Male
Hoosier National Forest, Monroe County, Indiana, USA
June 15, 2002
I think this might be a pygmy grasshopper, but have no idea what kind. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Quite likely Atlanticus americanus, but I'm not sure
It is a male, likely still a nymph.

Moved from Grasshoppers, Crickets, Katydids.

Eastern Shieldback Katydid
Thanks, I was leaning towards American Shieldback (Atlanticus americanus) or Least Shieldback (Atlanticus monticola). I realize that species id may be impossible given the poor quality of the image. I'm just delighted to have it narrowed down to genus.

Moved from ID Request.

Looks like a Shield back katydid
Don't know what species.

No wonder I couldn't find it
I was looking in the wrong place! Thanks so much for getting me pointed in the right direction. It looks like one of the Eastern Shieldback Katydids to me. Not sure which one yet, but I really appreciate your getting me so close. Thanks!
