Explanation of Names
Lymantor decipiens (LeConte, 1878)
Size
1.5-2 mm
Range
Michigan and Quebec to Kansas and Mississippi (1)
Food
Prefers to make galleries in dead twigs of maples (Acer spp.), but will use a few other trees (1)
Remarks
The adults and larvae reportedly feed on certain black wood fungus which are always present in dead wood.(2)
