Which true bug ? - Rasahus thoracicus

Which true bug ? - Rasahus thoracicus
Livermore, Alameda County, California, USA
December 16, 2010
Size: 1/2 " + a lil'
I know that this is an immature bug because of his wing buds and I was surprised at how large he was . I found him under a log near a marshy stream . It is hard to find insects this time of year so I was quite excited when I saw him with his bright orange coloring and pretty pattern . I am thinking that it may be some sort of Assasin bug but I don't really know . His forelegs look really strong and sturdy . Any comments would be great to further my buggy knowledge , thanks , sincerely Beth

R. thoracicus nymph
Pretty sure it's the only Rasahus found in CA.

Moved from Rasahus.

Not an expert ID
But from the powerful front legs, I'm thinking Corsairs. Here is what those nymphs look like:

When I looked up Cali. Corsairs species on here only one species is coming up(on here)and it has no nymph photos. But I'm thinking it may be that. If it is Western Corsair then this is the adult:

However, just a guess wait for expert ID
