Clothes Moth
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
December 16, 2010
Size: ~8mm
I find so many that look similar to this moth: Tinea, Doleromorpha, Nemapogon. It even resembles my Homostinea curviliniella. The more I search, the more they start looking alike. Conclusion? I must be looking in the wrong places. Appreciate some guidance. Thanks.

I'm still not sure what this is but am having a hard time making it Tinea apicimaculella.

Not Sure
I don't think this is Tinea apicimaculella but am not sure. The image for T. unomaculella looks possible but I'm not even sure of the genus.

Edit - check out google images from Europe of Haplotinea insectella.

Haplotinea insectella.
Haplotinea insectella looks spot on, not to say it might not look like something, also. Even matches BOLD images.

I can relate
with the "the more they start looking alike!" No guidance but I think you are in the right place. Just under represented in our on-line resources.

Keep The Faith
Winter is the time for "cleaning up" our posts. This is fortunate, as the rest of the year, I cannot go to sleep thinking I might miss something. Thanks again for your help, Steve
