Ruby Quaker? - Orthosia rubescens

Ruby Quaker? - Orthosia rubescens
South Hadley, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
June 6, 2010
I'm fairly sure this pupa belongs to the caterpillar in the preceding images. I just found it while sorting through my various jars and bags, and I've put it in the garage so it will experience winter, though I imagine it's doomed because it didn't get to bury itself. It has some kind of gnat or midge stuck to it, like many things around here...
