I think it is good idea to keep the dorsal view photo, especially when it is a good photo with the beetle very well oriented in the photo (like in this photo above), and the photo well cropped (maybe this photo can be a little tight cropped, but it is well cropped and so). The reason to keep is due to interest of many different specimens recorded in photo and more, we don't have too many specimens of Centrodera spurca on BG.
On short I think this photo has value to be kept. But probably the editors will not say nothing because it is the author's decision to frass the photo. :)
