The latest edition of Borror and Delong (what I used to key this out) had Macromiinae as a sub-family in Corduliidae. That's not the currently recognized taxonomy?

Move
The taxonomy being used on this site considers Macromiidae to be a full family. If you think BugGuide should be using a different taxonomic treatment, feel free to post something in the the taxonomic proposals forum, including your rational for the change. Regardless, it is incorrect to leave it here.

Ben -- I'm not a specialist in odonates, nor am I a taxonomist. I could really care less whether I place Corduliidae or Macromiidae on my label. It was merely a question based on curiosity.

No worries!
Most of us are amateurs. But amateurs can still advocate a particular taxonomic positions that BG follows. Please move your images to the proper node for them, Stream Cruiser, or to frass. Thanks.

No worries
Thanks Ben. I'd be happy to do so, but I've never moved or frassed an image. Those decisions and actions have always been made by someone in more of an administrative position. I don't know how (and don't see an obvious way to do it ... clicking on "edit" under the picture is no help.

Tag the images. You should see a link for that under the thumbnails. They will then appear on the left panel. Do this for all of them. Next, navigate to the Stream Cruiser images page (I already linked to it above). You should see a link that says move tagged images. Click this to move them to the new location.

Done. Thanks for the help, Ben. It will be useful knowing how to do this now.

Didymops transversa
Appears to be a Stream Cruiser (Didymops transversa). Should be moved out of the Corduliidae anyway.

Macromiidae
Need to study a bit as it's pretty faded.
