I rescued one yesterday.
It had gotten into an active doodlebug hole and the doodlebug was flipping sand at it as it tried to climb out. I didn't feel bad about depriving the doodlebug its dinner when I saw how large and well fed it was after grabbing a pinch out of the bottom of the hole. I took it inside, washed it off, and shot some pix of it.
