Brown soft scale
immatures, is probable if an indoors plant (Ficus!).

opinion on mistletoe scales?
I know these are tough. Anybody care to offer an opinion on these soft scales found on mistletoe (outside!), February, 2020 in North Carolina?
Larger ones are ~2 mm. I thought they were brown scales, but perhaps they are Parasaissetia nigra - black scale. We have none of those identified on BugGuide, but there is an image in Cranshaw, Garden Insects of North America
