Named in honor of Saskatoon entomologist Alfred Pibus "Alf" Arthur (1924-2005).

Saskatchewan, Manitoba. (2)
Type locality: SE Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Food
Larvae feed within heads and on seeds of common sunflower (Helianthus annuus).
