There are some dark ones in the collection of the UofA
but they are all more elongate and none has those distinct light bands.

 
Stictolepta pulchella
has the shape, size and pattern of my specimen. They are lighter, though.

Stictopelta
A much larger insect than Micrutalis, and with distinct venation. We have some specimens from Mexico that are close to S. punctata, but I'm not at all sure that either are really that species.
