Size: 7mm
This spider was on a plant at the edge of the mud flats on the shore of the Ottawa River. Hope someone can help with ID.

Just a wild guess
I would try Fishing Spiders (Dolomedes), perhaps
Dolomedes striatus http://bugguide.net/node/view/40025 or
Dolomedes triton http://bugguide.net/node/view/1990
It might not be either of these, but it might be something close.

 
Dolomedes
looks right to me. If it was rather small, I'd say it was a juvenile. We have some unidentified juveniles from this family here.

I looked at the original uncropped image and ascertained the length of its body is 7mm - small, I guess for a Dolomedes - so juvenile, it must be?
