Explanation of Names
Author: Bruand, 1852
Size
WS≈18mm
Identification
Adult: FW grey with groups of raised scales at ⅓ from the base and additional black dots scattered on the wing. HW grey, in male with a yellowish hairpencil in the base below the folded anterior margin. Although it lacks striking pattern and coloration, the groups of raised scales in the FW makes it easy to recognize.
Range
Europe, Canada, and the northeastern US.
Season
Quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides).
