BG3179 E6226 - Tetragnatha elongata - male

BG3179 E6226 - Tetragnatha elongata - Male
Barney Farm, Highway 103, 1.0 mi. NW Washington, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, USA
August 22, 2009
Size: body length 10.5 mm.
We believe this spider to be a male in the genus Tetragnatha. It was collected from a small potted rosebush at the edge of a pond. The chelicerae appear to be longer than the carapace and the lateral eyes are closer together than the median eyes. These features would be consistent with T. elongata. This female was collected from the same bush at the same time and is possibly the same species.
Placement would be appreciated.
