beetle - Hypotrichia spissipes - Male
Dunedin, Pinellas County, Florida, USA
April 13, 2009
Anomala sp.? Found at night on wall.

Moved
Moved from Beetles.

Looks like Hypotrichia to me too.
Right place for it--not much else it could be.

thanks again, Bill

no Anomala, something funny [not a ruteline, i think]
our guys are good; we'll know soon
spurs, robust tarsi, the shape of tibiae, claws, the large subrectangular scutellum all look quite suggestive for an expert to recognize the beast offhand

male Hypotrichia spissipes? a Fla. specialty
i'm not at all sure, but definitely shows some semblance
