Two-tailed Swallowtail - Papilio multicaudata - female

Two-tailed Swallowtail - Papilio multicaudata - Female
Jefferson County, Colorado, USA
June 25, 2008
I was actually out shooting photos of flowers & got a bit annoyed at first since this swallowtail was "in my way". (Yeah I'm a quick little thinker!) Before my entomology class, I had this labeled on my photo site as a western swallowtail, but now it's obvious: Extra yellowing on the body, more blue spots than on other species, and a second little tail on the wing.

Welcome to BugGuide
Welcome to the Guide, Shreck. Some gorgeous pictures here. However, we usually only post 2-3 representative pics. I see that you've put around half a dozen pics under the species listing and another couple out here in ID Request. You're more than welcome to put them directly under the species if you know that's what it is, but could you pick your favorite couple representative pics and frass/delete the rest?

Also, if multiple pics are of the same individual, we "link" them together. If you need to link some of your pics, you can go to each pic to link, press the "tag" instruction under the pic, and after you have the ones tagged that you wish to link, then hit the "link images" under the tagged images in the upper left.

Look forward to seeing more of your pics soon!!
