Corduelgaster maculata
Metrioptera! I'm a student at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and I'm creating a website on the Twin-spotted spiketail, you have some great pictures and I was wondering if I could use them? I would put a direct link to this site if you permit me to use them! Thanks

This is a Twin-spotted Spiketail
This is not Delta-spotted Spiketail (
Cordulegaster diastatops
) but rather, a Twin-spotted (
Cordulegaster maculata
). Delta-spotted Spiktail has very large, triangular lateral markings on the abdomen, whereas on this individual, the paired markings are smaller and positioned dorsally. Note that the eyes are in contact on the top of the head. On Delta-spotted, the eyes do not touch.
Compare
Delta-spotted
to
Twin-spotted
on njodes.
