Pretty sure this is something I saw in Cincinnati back in the 1990s, before I started taking images. I thought it was a velvet ant at first because I'd never before seen an all-orange jumper!

orange Phids
Yeah, this species is pretty widespread and should occur there. There are a few other orange ones in the east (e.g.
Phidippus cardinalis
) that are superficially similar too.
