Tiny Orange Thing

Tiny Orange Thing
Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, Virginia, USA
January 21, 2011
Size: 0.2 mm
I found this tiny orange ball in a cobweb under a board in the garden. It looked enough like an egg case that I though I'd post it for an id.

Baffling...
the only thing it really reminds me of is a spider egg sac, but at 0.2 mm it's smaller than a single spider egg, so it couldn't be that.

Details
Just to add a little more information, this was found on the bottom side of a rotting board in leaf litter and mud. I only spotted it while looking for springtails because it was bright orange. The board was along the edge of the garden bordering an overgrown right-of-way, not far from a compost heap.
