This long, very flattened shape and long terminal segment are characteristic of the Fire-colored Beetles.

Put a blister beetle in a pitfall trap
and see if you can lure some male Pyrochroids looking for a cantharidin supply. Either that or rear some larvae. (Feed them termites or ant pupae.) Due to their habits and short lifespan, adults are rarely encountered.
Edit: I was wrong about other subcortical insects being their primary food. Apparently they eat the rotting cambium layer of the bark.
