Moved
Moved from Ground Beetles.

Thanks Johnny and Peter. Another new genus for BugGuide checked off.

!!!
thanks guys

Phloeoxena signata (Dejean)
belongs to tribe Lebiinni. Description and range are detailed in this article. This is a beautiful addition to both BugGuide and my reference collection. I look forward to studying it. Thanks John!

Phloeoxena signata
confirmed based on my microscopic examination of this female specimen which is now a photo-voucher in the P.W.Messer collection. The second specimen you sent was a male so I'm thrilled to have sexual pair. Thanks Johnny.

explains why it didnt key out well in Lebia...
HA HA HA.

Palindromically
AH AH AH works well too! I'm having more fun playing here than watching some stupid football playoff.

very nice!
There was a voice in the back of my head that told me to look into the other lebiines first but I thought, nah it's gotta be a Lebia.

I'm in agreement about football. Uggh, is is baseball season YET?

Lebia...
well...it keys to Lebia ornata in the SC treatment but I do not trust this diagnosis. MS is far enough from SC that it should be considered there are species in MS not covered in the SC treatment. Also, not sure if the SC keys (and descriptions) account for extralimital color variants.

If this gets to Peter, he'll nail it down for you!

Thanks Blaine,I will be sending to Peter anyhow
and posting a few more and some clickers to.

Lebia of sorts
cant find anything quite like it on BugGuide; not sure if a new species or color variant. I will try to run through the key to SC's fauna and see if it is of any help.
