Those big jaws work real well. One bit my finger, and I had to shake my hand hard 2 times before it let go.

Carabidae: Lophoglossus vernix
I think Lophoglossus vernix. Really would like a dorsal shot to be sure. One of the former subgenera of Pterostichus.

Not Lophoglossus
These photos are perfect, and it is not Lophoglossus. I don't recognize it at all. Save it for me please.
