That beetle is crazy cool I hope they occur in Florida

 
If my guess is right it does according to
the info page,found this one on edge of a dried swamp "for now" that
borders a pine forrest under bark of some type of shag bark tree and have made some good find's at this location the past week or so.

 
they are rather common at my patio lights...
...and melon rinds left to ferment on my deck; all over the country, too
