Darkling beetle, I'm sure someone else will narrow it down further.

suspect alleculline
claws pectinate?

Added extra Lateral view,
with enlargement of hind-leg claw, but not sure if claw pectinate. But I did browse around a bit in the alleculline images; could this be near to this Stenochidus specimen (1); the palps on both specimens seem to be rather clubbed.

Stenochidus is a plausible call
i was thinking along those lines, too; could you check its claws under a 'scope or magn.glass for me?

I cannot seem to find the specimen;
wish I could; thank you though for your time and effort with this one.

that's ok
we'll figure it out sooner or later, Jim

A new specimen
I found another specimen, like this one, linked below:

With this one, using my small microscope, I was able to view the tarsal claws well enough to see the comb-like teeth on the inside curve of the claws. Also after some effort I was simply able to photograph the claws well enough to show the pectinate claws - photo included with the new beetle linked above. Hope these help. Thanks =V=!
