The coloring is much different with flash, brown rather than grey. In some flash shots the inside of the circular mark is metallic silver.

Maybe a Big Poplar Sphinx?
could also be a Big Poplar Sphinx, from the wing patterns and size, though the antennae look larger in the picture than in the one in the guide.
