Elm Borer - Saperda tridentata

Elm Borer - Saperda tridentata
Two miles north of the village of House, Neshoba County, Mississippi, USA
April 15, 2006
Detail of the "body." These Saperdas can be tricky, but the basal band is of the right shape and orientation; the middle band reaches the elytral suture; the requisite dark spots are present, although they aren't black. The powdery gray appearance of the elytra is not as marked as in many of Saperda tridentata, but still seems present.
