Rove Beetle - Lathrobium

Rove Beetle - Lathrobium
Foxboro, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA
April 21, 2006
Size: 4mm
This one expired before I could get it home. I've noticed some of these rove beetles are very sensative.

Staphylinidae: Paederinae: Lathrobium sp.
Possibly Lathrobium debile, but need a flatter shot to begin to be sure.

Sensitive
I have quite a few die while I'm photographing them. A little heat, dryness, or possibly even strong light seems to be too much for them.

moist soil beetles
These are all moist soil/high humidity loving beetles. After they have been in the proverbial desert of a container or house, especially under hot lights, they will nhot last long.
