Carpet Beetle - Cryptorhopalum triste

Carpet Beetle - Cryptorhopalum triste
Foxboro, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA
April 21, 2006
Size: 3mm

C. triste
That looks to be the right species. Compare it to this picture.

opinion of Andreas Herrmann
"Cryptorhopalum, probably C. triste"

Moved
Moved from Black Carpet Beetle.
The body is too short for this being an Attagenus, and the antennal club also is peculiar (and different).

Black carpet beetle?
This might be a black carpet beetle, Attagenus unicolor. The antennae appear pretty distinctive in this image.

Attagenus unicolor
Thanks Eric.
