Unidentified bug in coyote brush (maybe Perillus?) - Perillus splendidus

Unidentified bug in coyote brush (maybe Perillus?) - Perillus splendidus
Carpinteria Bluffs, Santa Barbara County, California, USA
February 6, 2011
Size: ~1 cm
I came across this bug in coyote brush (Baccharis pilularis). Some browsing in the true bugs led me to the genus Perillus, which seems to have some images that are close, if not quite right.

Anyway, I'd be grateful (as always) for any help on the ID. Thanks!

Moved from ID Request.

...which really doesn't show much more, I don't think. But I've added it just in case.
