Very Interesting
It does resemble Epeorus. Strange this sample lacks all femora bandings. However there is one tell tail sign that indicates genus. Using kluge 1994 / 2004 the forward notal area is not only shaped right but marked for a Maccaffertium. In the very dark brown stripes right in front of the the forewing. They are found in most Maccaffertium. Samples like terminatum lack them but look at the M vicarium complex they all have these marks. As to the lack of femoral banding and the odd tergite shading that would likely fall to a pale substrait for the larva. The shape of the clypeus is also within the Maccaffertium shape. Species concept is not possible for this sample unless it was reared. it is just to outside the limits of each concept.

Heptageniid
Lynette,

Nice photo. I believe it to be a Heptageniid male subimago. However, genus identification is eluding me. It seems to most closely resemble Epeorus, at least until I get to those darker tail joinings, which I not aware of any Epeorus species having.
