Cryptolestes punctatus - female

Cryptolestes punctatus - Female
Middleburg, Black Creek Ravines Conservation Area, Clay County, Florida, USA
January 31, 2011
Size: 1.4mm
Poor photo, but the best I could do. Keyed out using "The Flat Bark Beetles of Florida
(Coleoptera:Silvanidae, Passandridae, Laemophloeidae by Mike Thomas) to Cryptolestes
and @ 40x, the secondary sublateral line can be seen to diverge posteriorly from the
sublateral line and attain the basal angle, so, I went with C. punctatus over C.
unicornis. I will take to FSCA next week for Mike to comfirm or revise. If correct,
will need a new guide page.

we'll be waiting...

ID confirmed
Showed this to Mike Thomas and compared to FSCA specimens. He
confirmed the ID. James Garrison will submit a better photo using
his scope camera/computer enhanced stacker program, so if a
guide page could be prepared that would be really great. Many thanks.

that improved image haven't materialized yet........
could you please follow up on this?
