Aquatic Orders Wish List

The Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Megaloptera and Trichoptera genera missing from BugGuide are listed below; the Odonata will be added later. Photos of some of these taxa may already be present in the guide, but unidentified. Species names are indicated for genera known to be represented by single species in North America. The wish list for the aquatic and semiaquatic Hemiptera may be found at http://bugguide.net/node/view/475602. Thanks to v belov who kindly formatted the list to make it “jumpable”.

Neochoroterpes oklahoma pix?
There have been a couple of observations posted on iNaturalist that purport to be Neochoroterpes oklahoma
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/153342412
and https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/154578180

I don't know these at all, but thought they might be of interest to you.

Visoka off the list

one more... one less?

Cool
Got it and the one below. This is a nice addition. I've never seen the species before. Very cool.

Macdunnoa

Macdunnoa off the list.

Oroperla, Perlinodes and Cosumnoperla added

Salmoperla added

Bolshecapnia added

Bolshecapnia relisted
Bolshecapnia has just undergone a review which has resulted in splitting of the genus. Two new genera, Eurekapnia and Sasquacapnia, have been described (1). Also, I should point out that the capniids are undergoing big changes. There are several other new genera with more likely to come for North America. I've added those names to the list above. The species in the photo is now in Eurekapnia, by the way.

Spinadis simplex
Hi Brady-

Spinadis simplex can now be removed from your wish list.

Spinadis
Got it, thanks.

Atopsyche
can be taken off the list:

Got it
Thanks, Salvador. And I took care of the three genera from V as well.

caddis genera
Orthotrichia(1)
Chilostigmodes(2)
Psychomyia(3)

Added mayflies
A number of mayfly names have been removed from the list thanks to new images added by Greg Courtney. These include Raptoheptagenia, Traverella, Neoephemera, Analetris, and Dolania.

i'll update the order page
Greg says he's planning to post pics of "Hydrobiosidae, Rossianidae & Uenoidae [and] several genera in other families. ALL larvae."

Have newly populated photos of Ephemeroptera/Baetidae/Neocloeon.

suggest ADDING...
...Oropsyche howellae (Hydropsychidae)

Name added
Not sure how I missed that one. Thanks.

Ochrotrichia tenuata
Brady - I was completely wrong about Nothotrichia. Finally got some male pupae mature enough to identify by genitalia and Dave Ruiter has IDed them as Ochrotrichia tenuata. The larvae can be seen at (1) and the pupal cases at (2).

Nothotrichia
Nothotrichia added at (1). Originally thought it might be Ochrotrichia but Dave Ruiter suggested Nothotrichia and told me about the paper by Parys and Harris on Nothotrichia and that's what the specimens keyed out to.

Amiocentrus
Amiocentrus aspilus added >(1)

Got it
Thanks. Got the Marilia below, as well.

Marilia
Marilia added >(1). Sorry, not the best photos.
