Discoderus parallelus (Haldeman) - Discoderus parallelus

Discoderus parallelus (Haldeman) - Discoderus parallelus
Animas Mts. 1706 m, Godfrey Place, Hidalgo County, New Mexico, USA
June 18, 1981
det. R. Davidson, coll. S. Dobrott
specimen curated at UAIC

Discoderus parallelus is okay for now, but ...
if this specimen were ever examined, it might turn out to be the very similar sibling D. tenebrosus (LeConte). Latter species appears to be limited to New Mexico, has smaller body size and pronotal sides & hind angles are more evenly rounded compared to D. parallelus.

It may have been reexamined
years after I saw it. But at the moment, the UAIC is not very accessible
