Spider - Callobius - male

Spider - Callobius - Male
Lacey (near Olympia), Thurston County, Washington, USA
October 8, 2010
Callobius male? Alana, my daughter, spotted this one downstairs. When startled, it would flatten itself, splaying all of its legs straight out (see second picture). If it is a hacklemesh weaver of some sort, it'll be a new family of spiders for me. Woohoo.

Yes Callobius male looks right
You have some excellent images, so maybe Rod or someone can ID to species. I'll email Rod.
