Aphidiinae looks good (e.g. see
this post
). Perhaps they were searching for aphids rather than feeding on pollen and/or nectar. Or perhaps both! There does seem to be a goodly amount of pollen around the mouthparts
in this shot
:-)
PS: If it's possible to determine male vs female from the image, please let me know and I'll include that in the post. Thanks again :-)
