Hmm...
These (the nymphs, especially) resemble the
Lantana Treehopper
,
Aconophora compressa
. I gather that it's native to Mexico, but most of the pics on the Web seem to be from Australia, where it has been introduced as a biological control agent. Anyway, I wonder if yours might be something in this neighborhood.
I'll be interested in seeing what Dr. Hamilton has to say.
