not (Clerck, 1759) is treated as two or more cryptic species with "true" E. argentana
listed as extralimital (Palearctic) in Gilligan et al. (2020)(1)
Forewing length 11.5-15 mm. (2)
Adult - shining cream white. Rare in collections. (2)
Holarctic-boreal. In our area ranges across Canada and in the western mountains to Colorado, Idaho and northern California. (2)

Larvae feed on the roots of grasses and herbaceous plants (3)
