Perhaps Cantharis, moved to Guide (family)
I've moved this to the guide under the proper family. This looks close to
Cantharis
, see for example,
C. rufa
--Insects of Quebec. In fact, it looks very close to
Cantharis nigriceps
--shown at Insects of Cedar Creek, Minnesota. The pattern on the pronotum looks pretty distinctive. That may be close enough to assign to a genus, but I'll leave it at family for now.
I don't see this on
Nearctica.com
list for the family, nor a "nigriceps" in a related genus. Maybe now
Podabrinus nigriceps
? Taxonomic confusion reigns.

Cantharid (Solider) Beetles
I think these are soldier beetles, Cantharidae, and not Longhorn Beetles, Cerambycidae.
