Ceanothus Cricket? - Psychoglypha bella
Big Basin, Waste, Santa Cruz County, California, USA

Size: 11.2-2" w/o antenna
This was a bit smaller then the Ceanothus Moths that were on the building near it. Till I saw the antenna I thought it was a variation on the moth, now I've no idea.

Psychoglypha
This is the limnephilid Psychoglypha. You would have to have kept the specimen to determine species.

kept it, what then? Is there some local place that can determine it's species?

I'm not set up to do collections and send stuff around.

I see you are in Santa Cruz county - folks at CAS may be able to help, or Berkley. Otherwise I don't know anyone closer to you. You can easily send material dry in the mail and there are folks in Chico and Eureka that can help. Drop me a private email for names etc.
