Explanation of Names
Specific epithet for the host plant (Acer negunda).
Wingspan about 17-21 mm. (1)
Forewing length 8.5-11 mm. (2)
Adult - paler than Archips argyrospila
(Walker). Females have "huge brushes of erect scales on the abdominal venter, which are laid in neat, imbricate rows across the egg masses." (2)
Southern British Columbia to southern Quebec, south to California and Florida. (3)
Type locality: Pike's Peak, Colorado.
