Mitey beetle - Omalium rivulare

Mitey beetle - Omalium rivulare
Pelham, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
March 17, 2011
Size: ~3.5 mm
Carcinocephalus flavidus?
I was sitting by some just-emerged skunk cabbage flowers and looking to see what bugs were attracted to them. This beetle walked up to one of the flowers but didn't actually go inside.
Detail of mites:

Omalium rivulare
Moved from Beetles. Carcinocephalus has more pronounced oblique angular ridges on the head, and the elytra are either much longer (fully-winged males) or much shorter (short-winged females and males) than this.
