Upon close inspection
I've determined that this is M. obtusus based on the short width/ length proportions of the elytra and the clearly rounded apices of the elytra. In M. clamator, the elytra are proportionately longer and the elytral apices are angulate or slightly dentate at the sutural angle.

but I still need to educate myself on the best ways to separate obtusus from clamator from images!
