Unknown Bee - Eucera - male

Unknown Bee - Eucera - Male
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA
March 11, 2011
Size: about 20 mm BL
I realize this is *really* pushing it, but can anyone ID the family or genus of this bee? I note that the solitary bees have come out rather a bit early, and this one is not familiar to me, at least not from this angle. To me it looks like a carpenter or bumble, but it seems small for either. As well, the antennae seem a bit odd to me and may be a clue. Strong, fast flier, too.

Eucera (Synhalonia) male
probably E. atriventris or E. dubitata or E. rosae

longhorn
i can suggest a longhorn bee, they are distinctive with having those long antennae:

let an expert go further.

Looks to me
like you have the correct direction to go in, Molly. Thanks!
