Semi-Aquatic jumper, larval maybe? - Gelastocoris oculatus

Size: 1/2"
This small shield type bug would jump away if you got too close, living near a creek. It seems to be camouflaged very well, and can swim. Is this a larvae of some beetle? Thank you again.
