Geometer? - Lygropia rivulalis

Geometer? - Lygropia rivulalis
Scottville, Mason County, Michigan, USA
September 1, 2009
Size: just under 1 inch across
Found this dead on my dining room table in September 2009. Patterns seem to be most similar to Geometer moths. The surface is a little bit shiny like silk.

How awesome! I've never seen
How awesome! I've never seen another like it... not that I'm any insect expert. I think it's beautiful, and I have a special love for wetlands, so this is a perfect addition to my knowledge base.

Thank you!
