An insect found under some dead bark on my Eucalyptus. - Neoclytus conjunctus

An insect found under some dead bark on my Eucalyptus. - Neoclytus conjunctus
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
Size: a bit more than a cm.
I can't remember the date as it was last year(2010), but my best guess is some time during spring -hope that is enough.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Maybe something in/near Neoclytus?

ID confirmed by Ian Swift: Neoclytus conjunctus
cool! great call, Ken

Neoclytus would be my best guess, too
the closest one is N. caprea, but the vestiture pattern on this one is unlike any i've seen; too bad the photo is so blurry...

for the future: pls make sure to record sighting dates for all photos you may want to post on BG

pls crop tight to the bug to facilitate identification
...and fill the date field [sighting date is important]
may turn out to be a nice longhorn
