Size
6-10 mm.
Identification
Closely resembles some Amaurobiidae. Look for the orange carapace with dorsal groove & robust chelicerae.

Range
Long established in the Gulf States from Florida - Texas. More recently established in southern California and North Carolina. It was also collected in a greenhouse in Alberta. (1)
Remarks
Recently introduced to Florida (1944). Originally from Argentina and neighboring countries.
