carpenter bees

do male carpenter bees die after mating? i have a male carpenter bee at my house who tries to mate with any female but one (who nests at his hole) and she has larvae.(pollen legs) so are they "married".

Carpenter Bee Info
Check out this link. The carpenter bees that are mating now will live a couple more weeks and then die.

Do they sting?
Do Male Carpenter bees sting-I heard they don't. If not do they bite?

And how do you tell the difference between a female carpenter bee and a BumbleBee?

Male Carpenter Bees
Do not sting. I don't think they bite either.

At first I didn't know the difference between carpenter bees and bumble bees.

bees
i have terrarium with a male&female carpenter bees,and two queen bombus griseocolis.you can pick them all up ( if your very gentle) but there is danger of being stung by any male hymenoptera.they only have a a very small bite wich dosent even go trough your skin.

I was reading what was said o
I was reading what was said on here about Carpenter bees and that they bite the bottoms of the flowers-well, I have seen them do that!

Hairy Ab.=Bumble
Naked=Carpenter Bee

I can figure that out. I knew about the face colour on the males.

My daughter(age 15) is terrified of bees and I kept telling her these wouldn't sting her.
