Tipulinae
Based on the six spiracular lobes. Very probably a Tipula sp.

Crane Fly might be right...


How big was it?

 
Size
I don't have the ice cube tray they used for sorting (but it was a normal size cube) and the larva was longer than the narrow dimension when laying on the bottom. When it streched out it may have reached end to end on the long dimension.

 
Rough guess
20 mm, but that could be off a lot. Could be 15 or 25 or more.
